Great blog! I hope you'll consider adding it to the aggregator at Deaf Village (www.deafvillage.com) -- we'd love to have you as part of our community!

Yay!! Congratulations on it being activated. I was born profoundly deaf and it's always interesting seeing other people who got CIs at near the same age I did. (I'm 19)

I hope you enjoy your journey!! Looking forward to seeing more.

It's okay if everything is high and terrible at first. Just don't let yourself take it off!! :)

It DOES get better!

Thanks for the reassurance Tasha, I am struggling at the moment to keep it on all the time and I wear my hearing aids at the same time as talking to people to make sense of what I'm hearing. I want to wear just my implant and talk to just one person so I can really listen and have a conversation but the reality is that's not happening this weekend as there's 2 new people staying in my house so I'm having to wear my hearing aid so I can hear through their accent etc! I will persist. I've read a little of your blog but not all.. how long did it take before you started to feel good about it or was it good from day one? xx

Thanks for your all articles about cochlear implant. Because it will inspire me to get this for my ear. I'm also a profoundly patient of hearing lose. Good job Sarah. But unfortunately this is really a costly operation for me. we are so poor to get this. by the way thanks for everything.
